The Dangers of Not Looking After Electricity!!

We were called out to an old fuse board today, it hadn’t been touched in years. Unfortunately, due to the fact that it hadn’t been touched in years, some of the connections had came loose, this caused a thing called Arcing, which can be very dangerous. It caused the main fuse holder and the main MCB beside it to fuse (Join) together and melt, this is the point where the main ESB Cable comes into your fuse board.

Therefore, for this reason we highly recommend at the very least having your fuse board checked once every one to two years to ensure that no connections have come loose, even if you have a new version MCB type trip switch board, this would be a good thing to do every couple of years. Its not time consuming and its not costly but it may quite possibly prevent an accident.
